Comix Zone is the closest thing you can get to a comic strip in arcade action game format for the PC. In Comix Zone the protagonist is a character called Sketch Turner who gets involved with the action through his dreams (or better said, nightmares), while you play, which he has when he writes his comic about aliens invading Earth.

The Comix Zone gaming mode is similar to a horizontal scrolling fighter, or a beat em’ up. However, in Comix Zone you get breaks in the action as if it were a real comic. Also, the characters speak via speech bubbles like in the comics.

It could be said that Comix Zone is an animated action comic, with many adventures in the styles of a platform game and fight game. A good game with a classic feel, which is also free. Don't miss out!
